I have never used a wrench. Hand tight has always been good enough. Too tight and you will crack the bulkhead which will go unseen until you fill with water. Or worse, the glass :/

I have only siliconed one, just because I felt like it to see if there was any difference. Only difference was that it made a mess when I tightened down the bulkhead lol. Not needed.
I use silicone just for peace of mind. Just smooth with finger after tightening bulkhead for clean look.

I am glad! Measuring perfect fit inside the tank was tricky. ..even more so that there is the centre brace.

I used aqueon tank silicone for this. Not sure if it is any different than ge II. Paid 12 bucks for it.
