Does anyone remember the name of the tank suppler in Alberta that had great prices? Was it Aquarium Illusions or Bow Valley? I am looking to replacing my 180 as it has been running for 20 years or so in the next little while and don't want to pay local prices.

Cheap and decent tanks
But I can not recommend them
My replacement tank looks like crap
It has so many bubbles I can't believe it
The eurobraced top pieces look like they were snapped (if that's the right word) most eurobraced tanks I see have the glass cut Nicely and ground edges. This tank looks cheap. Maybe you get what u pay for lol

Is that reefkeepers old tank you're talking about? I thought he was super impressed with it.

Thanks for the info. It is a hard call on buying a tank. I just wish we had more in this area.

I had thought the same thing.

Read some Google reviews on this place and seems like there's another person complaining about glass cutting quality

Yes it is Reefkeeper's old tank and then they warrantee that because of bad silicone. The silicone all turned BROWNE. So they sent me a brand-new replacement tank. And even the new tank is in my opinion, not poorly, but not exceptionally well built.
I am not saying that they're a bad place to buy from; the tank looks good and I like it; but it's not a crazy bargain like you may think. It's well worth the money as these tanks are half price of the other brands but I would say that you do lose some attention to detail

Yikes. See that alone would deter me from buying from them.

I find it funny how Reefkeeper raved about the beautiful tank he got. But when you saw it, you knew it was shit!

I don't want to bash them because they seem like a really good company. I'm just trying to give an honest opinion.
Don't look at their tanks and say "hey they are a third of the price I'll buy them" and expect the same quality as a hire end tank I think every single seam in this replacement tank I have has three or four bubbles!

Definitely get what you pay for.

Imo if I'm dishing out for a tank. I'd want it to be top quality. Guess miracles isn't looking so bad anymore

I want quality. If it is cheaper and still good quality that is fine. But not cheaper and bad quality. considering how long mine has lasted I expect my replacement tank to last just as long.

For what it's worth, I was more than happy dealing with Derek at Miracles. To be honest, we have a small issue with my sump. Not quality, but a calculation error on volume and it overflows with power outages. Lots of variables here with the long runs, but he was still willing to work with me or rebuilding it. Don't know many places that would be cool with that. He was very honest, and I think his pricing is fair given the quality he produces. With the move coming and the sump being in the basement right below the tank upstairs now, it will no longer be an issue so will not have to take him up on his offers to make it right. I would imagine shipping out west however is not the cheapest.
