No problem, I wasn't offended. I was just kidding, Like he said for every Coral that turned out to be Great, he had many that didn't do as well. That takes a huge commitment to a great hobby. Darryls tank is the best I've ever seen, My tank probably wouldn't support such a great Coral anyways, Am I envious of him, No I wouldn't say so, I don't measure my accomplishments by any other.

If the coral was $20 and pretty common would you guys all still want it? It is a pectina which is pretty unique, but it is also another GREEEEEEEEEEEN coral.  (Yes, I know its super duper fluorescent green).

+1, if green slimmer was rare and 250$ a frag, everyone would want it too...
i will say the pectina is a cool looking coral, but not something i would spend 100$ on at all.

Hey Hey, don't you be slamming the Trumpet Coral, I bought 15 heads from him, now it's 25. Do you know that the Trumpet Coral comes in over 15 variations. The Neon Grn is famous but there are also 4 Red varieties. One of my Fav. LPS

The same thing can be said for any coral.  If it was common and cheap would you still want it. 

And I have to say Dave I've owned a lot of amazing chalices and I would prefer the space invaders pecinia any day.  Green with orange/yellow eyes.....super bright and yes it actually grows which some chalice frags grow so slow.

I don't care if it is common/cheap, as long as its full of colour and hardy, that is what makes it special (to me anyways), so yes I would still want it if I didn't have it. My point was, it is a MOSTLY Green coral, typically green corals are cheap because there are so many of them.  How many green corals do you see fetch a high price tag compared to a coral with multiple colours?

Thats your preference, I would take a different coloured chalice over a green pectinia any day.  I have a number of chalices that are just as bright as that Pectinia, but are basically worth $10....because they are green and people are sick of green. (A few guys from Sarnia/London who made a recent visit can vouch for the vibrant green of some of my chalice).

If that Pectinia was rainbow, the price would be 10x that amount...

Yeah there are a TON of green corals, my tank is mostly green.  That being said the pectina has a pretty sweet growth formation.

Also on the note of it being rainbow - I saw a post on Reefbuilders a while back that there is a rainbow pectina variant , it looks damn cool.

To see the florescent green of this pecinia is something else.  People who have seen it in person know.  There is  a reason it is worth so much in the US and is sought after.

Agreed.  The Pectinia has awesome growth pattern to it, very unique. TO ME the growth is what makes that coral special, not its colour.....TO ME

Sorry you took it as me knocking you Pectinia.  That was not what I was trying to do Darryl.  I was generating some discussion with some thoughts.

Not to stir the pot here, BUT, I know of another green coral that I think most guys on the forum would pay top dollar for... The Kryptonite Torch has been a mouth watering piece for some time now. I mean when Hayes there was posting his FTS of amazing SPS, everyone would comment on how awesome his Kryptonite Torch was. It is rather rare as well and quite expensive when it comes to a Torch coral. I would pay the price for a nice frag of one of those at the drop of a hat. Plus, it's a proven grower as well. I think most from the forum would agree... If you're into Wavey  oop:. LOL.
