Found a huge crab....

1. I have no idea where his hideout is. The two times I have seen him were literally at opposite ends of the tank.

2. I have also tried this trick, and while it is a GREAT way to catch hermit crabs, it doesn't seem to be much good for anything else. I find that the fish dart into the glass and snag the food before the crab has a chance to make his way in, anyways.

turn your lights off and wait a couple hours.... check with a reddish type light.  he probably is pretty active at night.

then wait till he's in the open and grab him with tongs or skewer the bastid!
