Day 2 no luck. set the traps again, and the fish were in the cups before I knew it. The domino damsel went nuts in the one cup eating all the pellets.

You'll need to find his lair and set the trap close to it.. Chances are it's close to were u saw it the first time, look for clues

Got a good look at this bad boy today.

It is really spikey,  and mostly brownish/neutral in coloring.

What is it?

from the photos I have seen of emerald crabs, mine seems to have more spines on his back.... He was pretty spikey all over his body.

Where is your rock from?  Emerald crabs are a Caribbean species are they not?  If you don't have anything from that area, might not be an emerald.  Either way, it doesn't look like it to me.  I would get it out, after all you've been through the last thing you need to take a chance on is a crab.  Knowing your luck you'll just start getting things to grow and then have a renegade SPS eating crab on your hands.

Acro eating crabs are not really that rare at all either IMO tony....
I have seen them come in on acros numerous times and have witnessed them picking away at the Acro.....
I would remove it...... And any other crabs IMO....I don't even bother with any hermits....you don't need them IME
