In all fairness. And I may be wrong. Maybe some one could chime in here. The Blue Line, Iwaki and the Pan world are pretty much the same pump except the Blue Line is made in the states, the other two are knock offs. Or maybe not the Iwaki. Anyway the Blue Line is silent and the Pan world is friggin noisy as hell.  I had a Pan World on my 150 and they are noisy for sure.

Now like I said, there may be a mix up here but that's how I remember it.

My old Blue line was actually quiet. I looked at final price at check out on BRS and the pump shipped is $218.00. Going to go and Ask Ken if he gave me the wrong price and if not I will return the pump or get the difference back. about $140....

Spur of the moment sale. I am going to return it and go with the Diablo DC 5500 variable. Even if Kengives me astore credit I will be fine with that.

Thanks Duke for the reply.

DC is the way to go, down the road u could get a cable from Torx and control it with your controller, random flow patterns on a closed loop would be amazingly cool

I've got a DC pump and I'm lovin it, I slow it down at night and has a feed mode and if you can control it with your Apex that'd be great. And their cheap.

Got an email from Ray this morning from Reefsupplies and the 5500 is discontinued and new ver.2 will be released in March.

So I went with the DC-6000 instead.

Sent out in the mail this afternoon.  ;D

Been on everyday reading posts but thought I would update mine. My 6000 pump came in and I replumbed my closed loop. Glad idid actually. Way more flow. Slowly getting system back up to par. Been battling cyano for a couple of months. None onthe LR but 30-40 percent of thesand bed is covered. Been syphoning and doing more than usual water changes. Nitrates sitting between 5-10. with API test kit and phos showing 0.I dont believe the phos are 0. I run GFO  and carbon. Changed out every 3-4 weeks. Ordered a hanna phosphorus ULR checker and a Red sea pro nitrate test kit yesterday. Should be here tomorrow. Thinking of dosing vinegar. Been doing a lot of reading and when i went to my buudys house the other night his tank looked amazing. ?... he has been dosing vodka and vinegar for 2 years.....

Wondering if I should add it here or start a vodka dosing thread....

You think PO 4 is too high?

Recommended level is 0.03. I am not far off of that.

Nitrates are way too high. Not many coral back in the tank yet until I get it down. A couple lps and zoas and sps thats it. Seem ok but no growth.

Gonna keep working at it.
