ok Been a year since i started up salt water again.
Things i have learned.
The frag tank is a great place too meet and learn. Could not have done it with out these guys.
I thank everyone of you for your help.
If i did it again though things I would do differently.
I would not buy any used live rock. I would by brand new rock and cycle it myself. Trying too avoid any pests.
I would have a qt tank set up from day one.
I would dip dip dip the hell out of everything i bought.
( i do this now, but not in the begining)
I would cut the bottom off every frag i bought, throwing the bottom away and only keeping the top 90 percent.
I would do lots and lots of research before buying anything.
( I do this now, but not enough for a couple of decisions I made.)
I would have the biggest sump and biggest tank I could right from the start.
I think it is almost impossible too stop pests or other things from getting into your tank. I don;t think anyone has a perfectly pest free tank. But I would start out doing more than I did originally.
That being said. I love my tank. It seems to be doing well. But I do have some issues I wish I didn't.
My thoughts after a year.
