Where to buy acrylic? I need some small sheets of it.

Looking to buy some sheets of acrylic. Nothing crazy large, just want to test out a few things and make a few projects in my spare time. ANyone know where to buy some locally?

Yup, I have almost purchased some from Home Depot. Even in the small town I am in, they carry different sizes and thickness'

I would be interested in knowing this too as it is a little tricky to cut acrylic cleanly. Made plenty of mistakes when doing it lol  :?

I got big sheets of black acrylic at the RONA on wonderland road ..when i cut it i use a carpet knife and keep scoring it over and over then yu will get a clean snap

Parker Plastics in London will supply and cut to whatever size you need.

Scoring and snapping can leave traces of jagged edges behind even if done somewhat nicely.

I set up a straight edge and use a router to cut mine. Always have a great edge. Then wet dry sandpaper the hell out of it to make a perfect polish.

+1 Parker plastics on clarke....i use them for all my acrylic needs.  Always have what i want and usualky never spend more than 20 bucks.  No extra charge for cuts.

Router is the best way by far...little to no finishing to get a weldable edge... but for material 3/8 and under a jig saw with a bi-metal blade with little tooth offset and zero orbital action can give decent results.  The key is a tool that will cut and clear chips with minimum abrasion and heat build up.
