What Type Of Nudi Or Slug Is This?

Look up Elysia Ornata...colour will vary based on what types of algae it is eating...if that looks like a match, someone with a Bryopsis issue should try some as various Elysia species are known to feed on it...

WOW ... those look really cool. You'd think there would be more of these algae eating nudis/slugs for sale in the hobby. Although I'm not sure that's the same species that Matt has.

I found a link to some info on them and this part stood out about identifying them .... "But all have a black margin on the edge of the parapodia, with an orange or yellow margin next to the black.'

I don't see any black in Matt's photos but maybe it will come in as they grow. o_O Here is the link that I found the info from ... http://www.wildsingapore.com/wildfacts/mollusca/slugs/sacoglossa/ornata.htm. That would be cool if they indeed turned out to be that type of slug as it looks really neat.

These little guys are algae eating machines. You can see the green algae filled stomaches. I fed them a chunk of algae from my buddies tank and they devoured it

Hair algae and algae on the rocks. When I watch them graze they don't eat the coraline algae. I put a few in a shot glass and tried feeding them a piece of nori and they really like that too.

Little Reef Keeper are yours orange and only grow about 1/2" too? It's definitely a Elysia sp? I just don't know much about them. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

I got a message back from Hawaii Oceanic Institute and they told me they are a Saccoglossa Elysia sp. and are great algae eaters, are reef safe and a great addition to any aquarium . I now have 86 in my aquarium.
