Is that like a flower pot coral or something different ?

it's what someone posted earlier asking for, papaya coral. I googled it and saw that it is a form of polyps, the exact same polyps I bought three times before. They just seemed to disintegrate in my tank.
Going to try them again....

Torch coral... just lost another one... I have a frog spawn that stared at 1 head and now has over 10.... a huge braching hammer but for whatever reason can't keep a torch.

Few kinds of designer zoos

I agree, I had 2 different kinds cool orange zoas that kinda withered away over time. I had them under a Kessil for a while in the display, then moved the reef to a temporary tote for about a year. The tank was maintained well, but I didn't do much in the way of spot feeding, or moving things around, adjusting flow and light etc.

Then I switched to a 150W metal halide and everything started doing really well, but by that point the one orange colony was gone and the other was down to one 2mm sized polyp that eventually disappeared.

It seemed kinda odd as the rest of the tank was always growing to a certain degree (other zoas and palys included), but any zoas with orange just didn't like my tank.

So there is no doubt a trick to certain zoas, as these were aquacultured frags that were in good health when I bought them.
