Very red carpet like alge ?

Hi all I'm fairly new to the hobby about a year into it and I've run into this alge in assuming and it is fairly fast speeding it seems like. I've been told by some stores that I Gould try and scrub it off the rocks by mixing some new salt in pails or spare tank and scrubbing the Rocks clean, then placing them back in the tank does this seem like a good idea or is there an easier solution? I am wishing to re aquascape so maybe not such a bad plan ? Any thoughts or ideas will be greatly appreciated thank you for your time !

Pictures really help.. That is cyanobacteria, probably caused by high nitrates or phosphates in your tank, do you use Rodi water? Do you have test kits? Results?

Cyno...test results of your tank and top up water help almost as much as pics. Also...what stores around London suggested scrubbing it clean? If you clean witgought fixing the issue, you will have it again in 3 days.

A siphon into a bucket will pull that stuff off fairly efficiently... no need to remove the rock and scrub. 
It will eventually run its course if your nitrates and phos are being looked after.

it wouldnt be 'bad', but you would undoubtly start another small cycle and maybe other issues
IMO, your best plan of attack is, siphon all the cyano off and then reaquascape without taking the rock out of the tank,

also if you can find an rodi water source that is best as well

It wont hurt to pull it out and scrub it all off. Looks like all you have are some Damsels in the tank and they can withstand a lot. Just pull a couple pieces at a time and do it. Rinse the rock afterwards in some fresh saltwater and out it back in. Definitely a nitrates or po4 issue. Do you use RO/DI water? GFO will definitely help reduce the po4.

I like what P said, While doing your water change blow it off the rocks and check your water source.
