So I got mine set up raised the eye as high as I could so backup alarm would Trigger before dumping to much water in. It’s been about 22 house and my water level of my top off hasn’t went down since I set it up and sump water level has dropped about 1/2” max on 150 ish gallon set up , I never had a ato before and I thought it would be kicking in a lot more at this rate it’s already dropped 1 gallon ,how much more till it kicks in? I thought forsure once by now ..?

Those sensor eyes are sensitive. They need to be only dipped into the water slightly and when the water drops the eye senses the changes and activates the pump. They are so sensitive placement is key. Keep it in a calm area as possible with no bubbles or light. I had my sensor right beside the baffle and when the water comes over into the return chamber little bubble form. So when the bio film grew on the eye the bubbles stick and the ATO doesn't activate. Same with light if it grows algae on it it messes up. I manually clean mine by brushing my hand on the eye once a week. I also took a sharpy and marked it in the sump so if i take it out I don't have to mess with proper placement every time.
