This anemone has just eaten So picture does not show it well. But it has split into 2 now 2 clearly visible green mouths.

I have not seen this before and thought they stayed 1 size and just grew.

Anyone else have one That's done this.  If So what should I expect?

I found this article....

Reproduction within this group, but any such discussion is hampered by the fact that there has been precious little research done on this subject. The species that have been studied are protandric hermaphrodites, meaning that small or young individuals are males, and the animal switches to being a female at some point in their lives (possibly triggered by some size or age threshold). Sexual reproduction apparently occurs by the release of gametes into the water column. There are several reports of a tiny tube anemone being found within the body cavity of an adult, but it is unclear whether this is evidence for internal brooding or an aberrant developmental pathway. Likewise, there is some evidence that these animals are capable of reproducing asexually, but to date there is no evidence that this has occurred in an aquarium. Regardless of the exact method of reproduction, the chances that your tube anemone will reproduce in captivity are very slim, indeed.

Re: Tube Anemone

Well as soon as I can take a more detailed picture I will post it. You can clearly see that it's still in 1 tube so that hasn't separated.  But only the tenticals itself have appeared to have divided in 2.
The problem is a lack of research in relationship to hobbyists information to be found.
Such as this case if they're clearly divided but in one tube sheath can they be manually split into 2 completely separate tubes?  I won't try to split it or screw around with it.  It's just another question to be asked in the case of research.
I'll leave it and let nature take its course.

I have a neon green and orange one and a black and purple one i read somewhere that if u put them close together they will realize another one is present and release sperm or eggs  to try and  fertilize each other. Mine are close and seem to do this once in awile but no luck as i know of could also be that even if fertilized the egg is released into water coloumn and gets eaten right away or sucked into equipment and destroyed

Thanks for the info. I assumed the same thing.  They don't split but just grow.

But according to what I see it appears that there are now 2 Anenomy sharing 1 tube.
It's interesting nonetheless ill keep an eye on it and post updates for future aquarists questing these things and their behavior and habits.
I also agree with the lighting, feeding and that their tenticals are not apparently dangerous to fish.
All my fish swim throughout its tenticals with no changes to their behavior.

In my tank I toss in sea bites (a homemade food from my lfs) with minced shrimp and make sure I send a few larger pieces to the Anenomy to grab.
My wife called and said the Anenomy looks like it's gone back to 1 now.
We'll see when I get home. Because last night the tenticals were sending food independently to 2 different mouths.  Weird but who knows what these things are capable of.
