Too Many fish?

I bought a few fish and acclimated all the same way, 60 minute slow drip acclimate. All survived except 1. I have never had this happen before. Do I return it or is it just an unfortunate thing with buying live goods? I checked all my Params and all are good. Phosphate, nitrate, ph and ammonia. 0,0,8.2 and 0 respectively. All my other inhabitant are doing great...
Could it be possible that I have too many fish in my tank? I have 5 1inch lemon chromis, 2 inch watchmen, McKoskeri Wrasse, fox face, 2 X 2" clowns, a 2 inch Tomini tang... My tank is a 75 with 20 sump, I have 100 gallon skimmer, I run carbon and GFO and I have a refugium with 20 gallon water changes every 2 weeks. and the tank is 1 year old.

Re: Do you return dead fish?

Most stores do NOT honor any fish guarantees on marine fish, at least in my experiences. Especially after 72 hours....

Well I dont think I would have felt comfortable taking it back anyway as there are so many variables I just wasnt sure of whether it is normal and whether stores want to know about it.

I doubt it was because you have to many fish. The fish was probably not a 100% when purchased and just couldn't handle the acclimation. It happens.

it never hurts to ask. There are times stores will honor a warranty even if they don't have one.

I bought a toadfish and dwarf lion from Living Aquarium in cambridge.  Toadfish tried to eat lion, choked, and they both died.  This was a week after i bought them.  They gave me 50% credit.  Not bad for something that was out of their control.  I only took the toadfish, still alive with lion spines hanging out of his mouth, back in hopes in might survive in one of their tanks.  Credit was offered without me asking.

All pur London stores seem to be willing to work with their customer base. I mean, it's a niche market. If you don't keep your customers happy, eventually you run ou t of them...

What about the too many fish idea? Am I overloaded? I personally think I am at my max now as the last purchase was the limit that I thought my tank could take???
But now after someone's advice I am a little worried. I mean 5 of my fish are only an inch big...

I'd be surprised if that would cause just one to die suddenly.  Your other fish would probably be showing ill effects too.  I have a tomini tang who can be a real a$$hole at times. Maybe it was killed?

Nope, the tomini survived and a dwarf angel died. The store owner said that it was  because I have too many fish and I have gotten plenty of good advice from them so I am happy with that. I am just looking for some opinions on my stocking list as I will be willing to sell some of my fish so that I can get my numbers down to avoid any further problems.
My only issue is that I had planned to have 10-11 small fish in my tank from the beginning and from my research I thought this was alright depending on the size and type of fish and also filtration. Of course I am not going by the so many inches per gallon rule but rather what is practical. I thought that with what I have I should be fine considering I have no aggression in my tank with plenty of places to hide and I am very dilegent with my maintenance. plus 5 of the fish are either an inch or fraction there of...

Have I been unrealistic? should I thin out my inhabitants? Or is what I have a reasonable stocking list?

Half your fish are an inch or less?  No way overstocking killed it.

Yup, I have 5 lemon chromis, which are all an inch or less, fox face (4inches), wrasse (3 inches), 2 clowns (1 is 2 inches and one is under 2 inches), goby (3inches) and now a tomini (3 inches) I also now have a banded shrimp, otherwise no hermits or any other inhabitants which would add to a heavy bioload.
