When I got my green mandarin I found that he spent most of his time in a low flow area (high pod pop).  Everyday I would turn all flow off and dump a cube of thawed brine close to him. Within a week he was eating brine.

i have 2 in a 90 gallon and they might eat frozen, i trained the one to eat with a jar, but have ong stopped that, they eat pods mostly i think, a mature tank is a big plus for keeping mandarin.

My tank is a year and a half old. Half the live rock came from a cube that I had for a year before. Im looking on the sand and the lights are off. Should I see pods if they are there?
What are some normal behaviours of mandarins? myn is just sitting on the sand doing nothing, same spot for about 30min

The pods they are after are extremely small, but still visible to the naked eye. I haven't seen a dragonet sit still.... my two scooters are always on the go unless they are sleeping.
