Bristle worms are like mosquitos, i wish they would not exist. I get that everything has a purpose but they are annoying as Duck (replace the D with something after E and before G).

Cleaning out cheato tonight in the sump and wrapped my hand around a massive worm. He was easily 4 inches when retracted and his bristles were like little needles, thousands of them are stuck between 3 of my fingers right on the most sensitive parts of your hands where your fingers form a V and then up your fingers from there. Going to try to soak in bread and milk that worked for bee stings.

To ensure he learned a lesson i chopped him up in tiny 1/8" pieces and fed him to my fish. My moorish idol and salfin did me a solid and ate him up over and over again.

Die Bristle worms Die!!

A few months ago I stopped by an old guys place that was getting out of the hobby that had a few things to sell.... his rock was covered in Bristle worms so bad that his rock reminded me of a dead bird covered in magets... I've never seen anything like it...

I was just going to suggest tape or glue lol.

This is Porky, he was about 6" long and had some girth almost an inch around I'd say

I totally forgot I have bumblebee snails. I haven't noticed them in awhile.

Porky was unfortunately caught up in the current somehow and before I could save him he got sucked into a power head. The funniest part of it was his skin remained intact but stuck on the power head...So it looked like a fuzzy condom stuck inside my aquarium.

He was great only time you really saw him was when one of the shrimp molted, He'd mow down on them exoskeletons like no ones business.

Just an update, ended up getting a nasty infection in the joint of my finger on the same hand the worm got my. I tried to 'man' through it but couldn't use my hand so better i go get some help.

Dr thinks the work didn't do it but likely allowed a way for bacteria to getting into my hand in that split second it was in the tank. Which is weird because I've always got cuts on my hands with my hands in the tank.

Anyway, antibiotics are working today i can use my hand to tie my shoe :)...small victories i suppose

I have been stuck so many times I don't feel it anymore. I usually take tweezers and see what way the hair is leaning and scrape them off. So it it leans to the right I scrape from the left. I do it under warm running water.
