Testing Kits.

Okay, as everyone knows I will setting up a new tank shortly. 125 gal with a 55 gal sump.
I need to buy a new testing kit, what are your options on the best one or best bang for your buck?
The new tank will have a sump/refug, protein skimmer.etc.
This will be a FOWLR tank.

+1 to these, also salifert is accurate aswell.

have to agree red sea is all around pretty accurate especially considering this will be a FOWLR setup. You will have a little more forgiveness in water quality going this route which does not justify the costs of some of the pricier test kits.

Red Sea is great, I love the calcium, mag and nitrate kits that I have of theirs. Honestly though, for a fowlr tank, the API master kit is probably good enough.... definitely the most bang for your buck...

OOPS, my bad lol. You are right, I missed the FOWLR part. Heck, and API kit would work on a FOWLR tank.

Yes I have a few and quite enjoy them. They are my favourite tests aside from the Hanna alk checker. I believe there are several other red sea fans on the board as well.

Red Sea it is.
Now, I do have 2 tanks, 1 FOWLR and 1 will corals.
Is there a red sea test kit that will cover both tanks ?

All you will really need for the FOWLR is the algae control, if that even, imho. That is after you see that the ph and ammonia etc is all in check. I think the most of us just use cheap API kits to track the cycle and once that is done, most do not check those very often at all. To make things even easier, when doing a water change, I would remove the 10-20% water from the FOWLR and refill it with the water from your coral tank, then top off the coral tank with NSW. A FOWLR should be good with the old water in a coral tank. Then you save on water changes, salt, only really need to test the coral tank to know the levels are good.
