I'm looking at getting a custom metal stand built for my tank upgrade. Does anybody know of a good source?

I want to go with something like the below, painted with truck bed liner or some other type of epoxy finish.

Check out his full build thread over at reef2reef.. http://www.reef2reef.com/forums/large-aquariums-180g/125571-toxics-savvy-185g.html

A bit of a drive but good to know! I also remember reading that davesolo can weld up metal stands. Would prefer a London source if it's at all possible but I will keep those two sources in my back pocket.

My brother also knows a few welders who he is going to ask. Thought I would post the question here in case anyone in the area has had one made before.

That's an awesome
Stand lol,
Didn't teebone get a custom
Metal one made too?

I really like that stand! I decided to go wood because I didn't want to worry about any corrosion with the metal.
I am following the same concept with the electronic panel install I think it is a really good idea

I am also going to cover mine with the wood panels so I thought that the metal was not necessary either.

Canada corals does have the aluminum frame stands, but they are pricey

Mine is going to be hidden behind a wall so I'll just be putting plywood on the bottom for the sump to sit on and the side for the electrical panel

If you draw something up I could get you a quote....i would need exact measurement tho and what's going in there
That stand is powder coated by the looks of it. That part I couldn't do.

Where are you located? No worries on the powder coat I'm going to use truck bed liner to seal it. I've read that powder coating does very little to protect against saltwater.

My brother put me in touch with a guy in St Thomas who might be able to build a stand. If he doesn't work out and you are local I will keep you in mind.
