Not much on the tube tonight so I took a flash light laid on the floor to have a look in the sump. My eye sight ain't what it used to be but I could see these little things in the water just above the bed. At first I'm thinking wow there is a lot more flow in there than I though but noticed they are changing direction. So I got out the vid camera and zoomed in to see what was going on! Whos! Whos are living in the bottom of my sump! I think it was the mayor of Whoville that threw the rock at me! check out the video!

This one one shows how many there are. I didn't expect to see the copepods swimming like that. I thought they were crawlers not swimmers. I guess you learn somethin new every day!

Question is! Why don't I see them in the rock structure of the tank because one of the fish I want to have in my tank by this time next year is a pair of mandarin gobies and I believe this is what is needed to sustain them till trained to accept frozen foods.

I have noticed the same thing in my sump. in my dt, I typically only see them after the light go out adn usually they are just crawling on the rocks. I have seen alot of them swimming like that around my suction cup bases on my power heads too. another place i have a shit tonne of them is in the base of my overflow. when i first saw them it kinda freaked me out.

LOL! I think it is just an adult copepods! With out the camera on close up I can't see it. I have see rocks or substrate has been moved around in the DT as well and has even been piled one on top of the other and kind of stuck together! I don't see anything bigger than this!  hahahahah

I sat with the flash light for about an hour waiting to see anything least be sketchy and haven't seen anything yet!

So I set the video camera up and just left it running waiting to see if this little rock moving bug would come out from its hole to say "HEY"! I was watching the video just before the end as I was about to give up cause today was my daughter's birthday and I couldn't spend it in front of the sump without catchin hell from pretty much everyone! He or she decided to make an appearance so I was able to cut the video down to the last couple of minutes to show what this is! So friend or foe?!
