I am running the nwb-100 right now on my frag system, i think it uses the same pump and it has started to sputter. I have watched chamber be full of foam then all of a sudden drop. Super quiet skimmer. Hoping someone else can chime in if they have same skimmer. Going to clean pump this weekend even though it's only been running for like a month.

Also I'm sure you can find it for a better price if you do go this route.

I would go for this one:

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/Vertex-Omega-150-150-gallons.html

or

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/Reef-Octopus-Diablo-7-w-DC-Pump-170int-200gal.html

or

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-store/Super-Reef-Octopus-2000-Internal-Protein-Skimmer-180-Gallons.html

They all have way better pumps IMO. Plus, it's Black Friday so there is some money to be saved if you bought one today.

Point is you can buy a bigger one and dial it up as your bio load increases. And it soft starts and they use less energy.

Larry has a Diablo and it pulls hard last time I saw it.

Yup in another year the life in your tank will probably double or triple with all your coral growth.. So it's nice to oversize.. But still not over skim until u get this  that point. And it comes with a controller.. Flashy lights are always a bonus

Im thinking on the reef octopus 2000 for my tank. Some good prices out there. I was looking at the 3000, but it might be way overkill.
2000 is good for up too 180 gallons. I have about 150 gallons minus rock.

Skimmer ratings are one of those things i guess, I think my skimmer is rated for a 220 gal tank but would never keep up with a full blown 220g sps tank imo. Not sure on the reef octopus, Larry has the Diablo 200 on a 80 ish gal system and it's working great.

I have too keep the price down. So the 2000 looks like the best bet. I may consider the 3000. But i'm buying lights too.
From what i have read the 2000 should work well.
I am only running a remora hob skimmer right now. LOL. Rated for maybe 50 gallons.
Thanks for all the help

If yu want to run my swc 150 then buy yur lights. Then when yur money is adding up then buy yur skimmer and give the skimmer back.    If ya break it it's sold....lol

Thanks larry. I will keep that in mind. Greatly appreciated.
