Setting Up A Fuge

I have never used one, and want to try it.
If it works on my new tank, i will add one to my older tank.
I have a 25 gallon sump, and I was thinking of using a 15 gallon as the fuge.
The 15 gallon is drilled on the end. So I would have a pump send water to the fugue at one end, then it would flow out the bulk end and into the main sump.
So the fuge would be slightly higher than the sump.
What do I need to put in the fuge. I have a t5 light for over it. But what else do i need to modify in the tank and or add.

15gal might be a bit small. But worth a shot.

The larger you go the more space you will have for macro algaes. Which in turn helps more with nutrients.

I'd say a good 3-5" of crushed coral and a good amount of cheato or caulerpa.

But the t5 should work well for it.

Just make sure your sump can handle the additional volume in the event of a power failure as the fuge will drain to a certain extent which could possibly overflow your sump.

Fuges are great, remote Fuges are awesome, You can never measure their worth to a system but i'll bet it's emense, I'm thinking about setting one up with out the display and hooking it up later, they take awhile to take root but they add a wealth of goodness to any system. I once had a 200 GL remote fuge tied into a 120 display. It's great to have and if you have the room, set it up.
