sand sifting starfish

do sand sigting starfish have babies?  the big star was taking last nite.  nan was up at 6 am. and seen this lil one. and said the big star is on other side of glass.    ..i normally only see the big star out on the glass like every 2 months or so

It's an asternia starfish.... Some are pests, some aren't.  They may multiply in your tank.  Mine have never hurt anything.

I don't think they hurt, they're like the little brittle starfish...pest in numbers not damage :)

Yea I've heard a few stories of them eating zoas
Mine don't thankfully, but getting a harlequin shrimp is definitely in my to do list.

I have the zoa eating bastards as well as harmless ones that clean algae off the glass.  They only go after some types of zoas and leave others alone.

the little one is a pest. its not a star. they wont get much bigger then that. come out a t night, you see them in the molrning then there gone, right?
