OK, new filter, new carbon, new resin.
But i am 8 PPM TDS before resin and 4ish after. Cant get 0.
The resins was bulk, and only filled the chamber 80%.

Could the fact that its only 80% filled be an issue.
maybe its channeling.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Mike

I am going to use this water for new system, but would like to see 0PPM.
I also plan on upgrading the RODI. It takes way too long.

Need a higher flow system.

thanks

No back flush that i know of. I didn't replace the membrane. But im only 8ppm after membrane before DI. After DI i am 4ppm.
Its a very old system. I bought it used. It takes for ever to make water. It may just be time for a new one.

The density of the DI does matter. It has to be full, packed down, filled and packed down and repeat. Also, the lower you can get the PPM before the DI, the longer it will last. Replacing the RO membrane is a good idea, then pack the hell out of that DI resin to get the last few PPM out of it. New filters and RO membrane should get you down to about 4ppm and the DI will take care of the rest.

Im in cambridge.
Tap is 450-500
after ro about 6ppm gets down to 3 or 4 once it been running for a while.
And after di 0.
I think the fact its not packed down is big problem, i have similar thread from couple months ago with basically same problem as you.
With 8ppm going into di resin you should get 0ppm coming out atleast for a couple hundred gallon n then tds will start to go up.

I flush membrane and watch tds climb to over 200 then back down to around 10.

I close flush and bypass di until tds goes down even more to around 6.

Then i let it go through di resin and get 0 tds

If you dont know what the flush or di bypass is id recomend atleast di bypass, once i put that on and made sure to pack di resin really well i started getting 0tds for a longer period of time.

You can look at the thread i started. This is what was recomended to me and it worked. Now im still trying to get the asov fixed but thats a seperate issue

So my DI resin is packed up to the top of the column now. Did this on its own. Open space at bottom now.
My TDS is now down to 2.
Gong to pick some-more DI resin up this weekend.
