I have some pieces of rock from a old QT. I did use copper in that tank so the rocks where exposed to it. They rocks have now been out of water for 4-5 months sitting dry in a bucket . Would it be safe to add these rocks to my sump or will they be holding copper in them?

They will still be holding copper, and holding it for a very long time you need to cycle them in a vat with a skimmer, best way to remove it, may take a couple months to get rid of it all completely, as far as Ive read

I wouldn't chance it
Dump the rock - not worth the risk
Not sure why anyone would need live rock in a QT tank - generally plastic pipe is used if fish need shelter

Alright I won't use it. Thanks. It was a QT tank then it was empty so I used it as a fish only tank for a bit so put some rock in.

Dump it then you won't have to "remember" if it was exposed to copper or not

I wonder how much used live rock has been sold that has been treated with copper or have other issues?
