Looking for recommendations for a single species to have multiples of for a 100 gallon tank.

Species and approximate numbers of said species able to be housed in the tank (taking into consideration size at maturity) FOWLR tank of sorts.

Harlequin Mantis Shrimp - this would be balling!!!!  So colourful and neat looking.  Supposed to be ridiculously intelligent too.

I would totally do a species tank of those.

And I've always thought a cephalopod tank would be neat (octopus! or squid or cuttlefish) but I don't know if you can keep multiples in a 100gal.

Would prefer a fish that I could have 10+ of in this tank. Ideally something colorful and schooling to a degree.

I realize this limits size, but the idea is for looks of the fish and also nothing predatory.

100 gallon rimless tank, maybe a few pieces of rock just to break up the aquascape, but no caves or anything crazy and intricate. Going after a much simpler look.

Not too many fish? That seems like a lot considering they grow to be like 5" or so each.

If you are tying into existing system you are going to have a good amount of water in your complete system and should be fine.

+1, its not so much the tank size as the water volume size that determines what you can keep.

Still undecided on tying in or not. Heavily leaning that way to be honest, but also considering completely new separate set up

Personally for u I think it's a stupid idea right now myself..

Getting another tank? There sre no corals in it. A good deal came up so im jumping on it. I have no issues keeping fish after all......

Other option is I just plumb it up and have it running for more water volume which changes nothing.... don't see how that could cause any issues at all. Or worst case scenario leave it empty....
