I went to walmart to buy seafood medley and I did not find it. I will try again next time. I went to another grocery store they had it but I was not sure about the content.

The package contained few raw things but also cooked mussels and cooked clams. Also it was specified that it has Sodium Tripolyphosphate and Sulphites. I guess these last ones are preservatives for the cooked items??? Thoughts?

I do the same with the ice cube trays except as soon as it is frozen I put it all in a freezer zip lock bag. I don't know if it makes a difference but I feel better if it doesn't have any freezer burn on t.

I feed pretty much the same way, haven't blended any of the medley tho. I feed Mysis, raw shrimp, nori, sometimes bloodworms, a little flake once in a blue moon, but I think the flake and pellets dirty the tank faster, I thaw rinse everything well with ro water and feed at room temperature.

What about salmon or other marine fish? Are they forbidden as a reef food? Too much oils and/or fat?

Being a avid trout fisher I've thought about using salmn eggs or trout eggs to feed my clownfish. But after a lot of reading, that's a no no. To many parasites and diseases can be transferred over from the freshwater eggs .

Thank you for info. I did feed them few meals of salmon meat. Fish were happy, but I see your point and I will remove salmon from their new diet.

I was always confused with this because salmon also live most there life in saltwater and return to freshwater to spawn again. I'm not 100% on meat. I just looked into the eggs. If you find any more info please post it.

Not sure either. Eggs and adult fish may have different parasites. Truth is that some parasites may not survive the new environment in the ocean. Also I think that some of the fish are farmed in larger basins, so there is another risk of infestation? Maybe I'm wrong ...
