Quite The Conundrum

A couple weeks ago I was refilling my top off tank (30g aquarium underneath the stand), and a stick-on light fell into it. Foolish thing to use in hindsight! So I took it out, no big deal. Except I failed to notice 2 AAA batteries had fallen out of it, and have been sitting in there ever since. Miraculously, my tank has seemingly suffered no consequences from being topped up from that tank while the batteries were in it, which is about 25g worth. The problem is now this... I never intended to take the top off tank out unless I was tearing down my whole setup (had to put it in from the back of the stand), so I can’t just take it out and replace it. Will filling/draining repeatedly be sufficient to clean it?

Oh yeah. I only saw them when I was refilling it, which is roughly every 2 weeks. Big clumps of “rust” on both of them.

If you hooked some kind of a small magnet on a stick of some sort, to give you the reach, batteries are magnet so you could pull them out that way. Go fishing kinda for batteries.
