Mostly my fault. I had changed too many things at once for me to narrow down the issue in time to save the above pieces. I should've known better.

Long story short. Due to my system being ULNS. My alk spiked to about 8.8 and caused most of the above to melt literally in front of my eyes. If my system wasn't running at such low nutrients, I probably wouldn't have lost those.

I tried to chase that magic number of 2-3ppm no3. Even though my system wants to run at 0 no3 and 0 po4. I've accepted it and will move on.

Lesson learned and lesson to be had here. Only change one thing at a time, and allow a few weeks to see if there are adverse effects first before doing more.

Sorry to hear of your losses, those are some really fantastic pieces :(

I wouldn't expect an alk of 8.8 to be too much of an issue, even on a carbon dosed system, unless you drastically dosed a whole bunch of Alk all at one (i.e. left a doser on)... I know 7 to 8 dkh is supposedly ideal, but I've gone over 8 in the past with no ill effects. Also, when you mean you were chasing 2-3ppm nitrates, but the system wanted to run at 0, do you mean you were overfeeding or overdosing something? Really, that in of itself (either 0, or 2-3ppm nitrates) shouldn't be an issue, maybe cause some paling or browning, but not melting... unless you suddenly put a bunch of GFO online and stripped the system of nutrients in a hurry, which can happen. I'm not trying to be critical at all, just trying to get a better understanding of where things went wrong.

It was honestly my big mistake.
Added powerheads(change in flow) no WC's for a while to try and increase no3. Change in all my supplements and bad set of test kits.

I have no one to blame but myself
