Hey Justin,
The tank was originally tinted by miracles. I believe they use regular window tint. I recommend using black vinyl. I just did my cube and it worked out very good. You can generally get the vinyl at any graphic design store. They cut whatever length you need from a roll. Very straight forward to apply and looks great

I tinted mine with vinyl from a graphics shop.  Turned out awesome.  Just spray it with soapy water and smooth out the air bubbles.  Nothing to it.

I used to work at an audio installer place for a short while, learned how to do film (wasn't the best though).  The reason most people's goest to shit?  They don't cut along their defroster leads.  Then winter comes, they turn them on, and bam, bubbles everywhere.  2nd reason is not getting the bubble out to begin with.  even the tiniest bubble will expand in the heat of the sun, so you have to pin it.  Lastly, large curves in the glass have to have material cut.  I never got the hang of that.  I liked working with acoustics and speaker boxes (before subs came into play).

Soapy solution, and a credit card (or a squeegee if the material is fragile, and you'll have a perfect job.  They sell kling material now too, which would be easily removed.

Ya that sounds like the way to go, How black did you go? Which black is it? Sounds pretty easy to put on and take off!

I went with black. The vinyl isn't like tint...its solid black. I have zero bubbles and like I said it couldn't look any better.
I got the vinyl from aquatic kingdom in Mississauga !
