I gave wondered this for a while and unable to google any information about zoanthid polyp size. The smaller the polyp size tends to be harder for me to keep. Are there different care requirements?

I've found this to be true for the micro Zoas almost every time. I've had random losses with all sizes including Paly's but the micros I have a hell of a time with. I'm guessing it's all about the water chemistry and how consistent I can maintain it, but I'd like to hear more as well. Good question.

Can't believe I didn't see this thread till now,

Well Being a avid zoanthid/palythoa fan, fragger and victim of palytoxin :) I have found that all sizes are all different for care needs, some medium to small polyps usually like low to medium flow with a little more light, also dependent on the variety, some are more delicate, as most will morph a little different colour if put too high or low in the tank, I have found micro zoos like Rasta like both high flow and high light and the polyps get bigger than normal, some polyps can't handle the turbulent flow (or light) and never open properly, thus hurting there food intake, slowly killing them till they starve and melt away, some make tons of heads become a nice colony and just melt for no good reason, some like dirtier water some can't stand it-but won't die but won't grow new babies for months on end, damn Gold Hornets!!!!!;), I found palythoa, every variety I have had love high(higher) flow, usually the bigger the polyp the more flow it can take, and for the most part they love the light as well, as long as they are acclimated to it, if you find your polyps are stretching up, it's possible they need more light, if they are flat as buttons with short plump eyelashes maybe lower them a little, variety dependent as well, this is what Ive gathered from my short time reeding/reefing and having many different kinds in a DT with LED's, frag tank with cheap LED's to a nano with T5's, all kinds grew/grow different in different tanks and conditions..
