quarantine method.

Would putting a filter sponge in my tank be a good way to colonizing bacteria for a quarantine tank, to just stick in the filter? If so how long should inlet it sit in my tank?

Yes. I've done this many times. I usually hook it up and get it running in my sump for about a week to week and a half before putting it on the quarantine tank. Now keep in mind. Once it's been in your quarantine tank with medication. I don't recommend putting it back on your main system to re seed it again

Ok i just have the sponge sitting in the back of my tank on the sand bad will this be ok?

It's going to seed much slower if you're not passing water through it.
