I'm looking for recommendations for a protein skimmer (my first)
So far, I've been looking at buble magus curve 7

Med to lightly stocked tank,, 90gal display tank, 20gal sump,

Available area in sump is:
7.5" wide
11.75" deep
25" high
Water level at 13"

What does everyone recommend

Reef Octopus, if money was no object Bubble King. I'm searching for a new skimmer myself, so have been reading up on many brands but always end up back with the Octopus. I did own an early version of a Bubble Magus, nothing particularly wrong with it but nothing particularly great either.

Take a look at the Nyos skimmer. I have one and would never buy anything else now. It's well made, easy to setup and with the main water adjustment to get it skimming close and then fine tune it with the air control. I have not had an ounce of problems since I installed it.

I forgot you showed a picture of that one a while back, what size did you get and what size tank is it on? What depth are you running it at?

I have the 160. I have run it in 10" of water and in 8" of water without a problem with either depths. It's very easy to adjust for what ever depth you want. Mine is on my 110 gallon tank but my total water volume for that system is about 180 gallons.

That is the information I was looking for, thank you Winks. I have a 120g and 20g tied together with currently a 100g sump. The plan is to swap the sump with a Trigger CR44 and my current skimmer, Reef Octopus 250 int will certainly not fit in there.
