Protein skimmer recommendation

Upgrading to a larger setup 100g. Looking to get a new skimmer rated for 200G. People have told me from time to time names of new generation protein skimmers that are super efficient and whisper quiet.  I just can't recall what those are now that I'm looking to get one. Search on RC was futile. What have you been hearing from others?

Thanks!

I got the sro xp2000.  I wouldn't call it quiet though.  It does work very well

I read some horror stories about CAD skimmers, but also read the other side that people love them and swear by them.

Bubble magus is a line I carry and have been happy with there products since I have been selling them. Good solid skimmer for a affordable price.

I wonder if there would be a noise level in dB for skimmers online somewhere.

What make/model pump are you referring to that is dead quiet?  Would it work on a vertex in250?

yeah lots of horrors with older generation CAD skimmers. And also problems with new pipeless skimmers they got. their cone ATI line which are super quiet doesn't seem to have comments, good or bad on regular forums. Thing is I can't find what pump brand they are using.

B. Magus has lots of fans. They do use a cheap brand pump. I understand that Seaside Aquatic cone skimmers are rebranded B. Magus skimmers with Sicce pumps. That's one I'm leaning towards right now, along with Vertex.

I'm enjoying my Aquamaxx/JNS ConeS CO2.  It's relatively quiet on most days but sometimes gets a bit of a buzz going.  It was one of those skimmers that I had read people saying was "whisper quiet" and got me thinking that maybe different people have different definitions of whisper quiet.

I would consider MJ1200s whisper quiet when using the suction cup mounts and I have never heard anything else in my tank that runs as quiet as they do.  Mag 18 return hums, skimmer hums, Korallia hums, wavebox rattles, WP25 whines.  When the CO2 is quiet, I rate it as having a noise level just below that of the Mag 18.

I have a reef dynamics skimmer. Lifetime warranty consistently pulls some nasty stuff theres a bit of lead time when you order and they arent cheap but definitely worth looking into

I have a Vertex in100 and it's a Tad noisy but a real good skimmer, I know people who run the Vertex Omega 150 and they love them, 3-4 hundred but really good. I had bought an Omega 130 and hated it. Cadlights aren't great and personally I'd stay away from Bubble Magnus. The Vertex Omega was dead quiet but I just could not get the thing dialed in properly.
