I have been keeping a watch on this site and they recently posted some new premium clowns
A few of the best ones have already been scooped. Grab em up!

Premium Snowflake # 8 is one heck of a great clownfish. This one is a little smaller but check the video and images to see how amazing this one is. The orange multiple orange spots on this one make it truly stand out! The spot on its forehead is one of a kind as well!

and this one..

Premium Fancy Snow #79 is a clownfish that falls into the ultra-rare category.  His hologram bluish spots are highly desirable.  He has 7 spots on the left side and 6 on the right side, 13 total.  To accent all the spots there is plenty of blue on the fringes of the white.  There is even some purple on the left side of his forehead.  On his right side the middle and tail white stripes just connect.  There is also a few really nice waves on the right side of his dorsal.  Clownfish like this don't come around very often!

Those are nice.....but if you want something local ORG has a super nice pair of blackER ice.  They are larger (which is nice) and super sweet....mostly black with just a small touch of orange and of course the white striping of a snowflake.  I think you could talk yourself into the pair for $200 cash.

My problem is that I can talk myself into a lot of things :?

So what exactly is alpha corals?  It says "locally grown blah blah blah" at the top, but there is absolutely no mention of where they are, no phone number to give you an area code...so I assume they're local to tasmania? The 'about us' has no real info. I even went so far as to check out sustainable aquatics, which is listed as a supplier, and oddly enough, THAT site has no mention of where they are located.  Are we just supposed to know where these things are, because they are so awesome and well-known?

Sorry, stuff like that just leaves me scratching my head, and I wonder how many other people do the same.  If I order livestockl, I don't want it coming from tasmania.  "a brow furrowed is a dollar lost".

Ah.  I see.  I had to 'like' them with facebook to find out that they are not, at all, local.  Again, interesting marketing strategy.

I read a thread on these guys quite a while ago, but can't seem to locate where it is or even what site it was on. It would be worth looking at for anyone, these guys really know their stuff. It was a very interesting thread.... ill see if I can find it.

I may agree with you, as long as the 'stuff' they know isn't marketing or their whereabouts.  ;D

Its probably a home based business.

Anyway....someone should pick up those blackER ice pair at ORG.....nicest clownfish I've seen in person, and a good size.

The thread showed a warehouse where they had everything setup, it was quite impressive actually. They just aren't a store and probably don't want people knocking at their door, their main business is shipping product out.

Here are some pics from the Alpha Corals facebook page. Really cool set-up for raising clownfish!

Not really cool, if you ask me.  clownfish pairs spend their lives in a 1x1 cube with a clay pot for a home, pumping out babies that are 'raised' inhumanely and unnaturally smashed together in huge groups, then stuffed into a plastic bag and sent who knows where (hay they're local!), to be dropped into a tank at a lfs (always the best environment for young fish) to THEN shuttled off to buyers with unknown fish keeping skills.

I know most captive clownfish are raised this way, but man, look at it, it's kind of effed up.

Sounds like a puppy mill for fish. Lol it sucks in a way, but we would have never seen these types of clowns if they weren't mass bred for selection purposes to keep the strain going.

agreed, I'm def not a fan of puppy mills either.  I did 6 months of research to find my dog's breeder.  Was able to meet the dog's parents, saw paperwork on the grandparents, saw where the puppies were raised, and the breeder had to come to my place to make sure it was satisfactory!  It would be nice to think all pets were bred this way.

If there breeding they are happy....and we should be happy that it's even being done rather than stealing them from the ocean.

Clownfish are not easy to breed like dogs....the have to have optimal condition do want to do it.  Ya I said do it.  :)

So your saying you would rather pull them out of the ocean ? the more captive breeding and aquaculturing we see in this hobby the better for the little bit of reefs we have left , also benifits our hobby aswell having rarer peices grown out .
