Power heads

Just wanted to see what everyone would recommend for my tank when it comes to power heads. Currently I have a sump with a return that sits in the left corner of the tank. The return has two spouts one the I have facing down the back of the tank the other faces towards the front of the tank. I have added a power head to the other side of the tank facing towards the return at the back is this enough flow. Do I need to add more.

I think it's all relative to what sort of critters you plan on keeping. Also what size your tank is??? I have heard that you shouldn't count the flow coming from your return when determining flow though. From my research for a softy tank 10-20times the flow and for sps 20+. I am planning a 75 softie tank and I am sticking with two 1200gph powerheads. So that's 32 X turnover excluding my return...

I think for people to give you accurate advice though you will need to specify a few of the details of your current system like tank size, stocking plans, power of current powerhead and also your return (if you want to include that).

Everything is relative though and I am sure that people have had success with different variations.  .

Currently i have a 75 gallon tank, running a sump, SWC 120 protein skimmer and return pump. The power head i added was a sicco #3.

Id check out the new jebao wp40 pumps. There getting great reviews. I orderd one last friday. Hope it comes soon. Going to put it up against it major competitor the mp40. Theres also a thread started here on them or checkout utube
