Power Bars Under The Tank , Do Or Don’t ?

Just wondering if you guys do ? Under my stand / sump area I don’t because I seen what happens to the cabinet hinges.. but I don’t have much room behind my tank . So was wondering if any of you do

under my tank gets about 77 in temp , not sure about humidity but it’s gotta be up there lol

It is a risk under the stand but it can't be helped in some cases. I would attach them top the sides high up or attach them on the underside of the tank facing down.

Does your stand have an open back in the sump section? If not I would add some vents if you can and put some fans on them to pull the moisture out. Or long run if the sump is under the stand any electronic equipment will suffer.

@Kman i have about 5 3” holes in the back , and 2 Have small fans with timers , it definitely helps , but I may just risk it and keep it in the ground behind the tank .. I risk water splash from having external overflow but I’ll turn Off the bar when doing work .

What about using two screws and attaching on the side of the stand? Or is this a reach issue?

Space is always an issue for me. I go bigger then run out of space anyway. haha

If i have to put something behind the stand like a brick and I place it onto it. I also take something like a rubber made lid and slant it over it. It helps stop the accidental water drops but is easily removed to work on. Just allow for air flow and not smother it.

I’ve definitely considered something like that hahha I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks it too ! Haha thanks buddy

I have 4 power bars (2 of them are ReefKeeper power bars) under my tank in the sump area. They are mounted high up.
They were there for over 8 years now, without any problem.

Luke like many reefers unfortunately suffers from CramItToTheFullestMaximus syndrome so doesn't have much room below the stand to be as well organized such as yourself is. ;p

Loop the power cable down and back up so any water won’t go right into the power bar
