I have a bad break out of diatom algae in my sandbed. The tank has been cycled for a few weeks now and has a pair of designer clowns and a canary blenny. From what I'm reading this is normal post cycle. I started running chemipure elite in my overflow last week to help with phosphates. Should I be doing anything else or just let it run its course ?
Thanks

I added a clean up crew 2wks ago as well. I have 8 Nassarius snails cleaning the sandbed, 1 large mexican turbo, 5 trochus clean glass and rockwork. In a 50g cube

Definitely normal. Just leave it be and let it run its course. They feed off the silicates in your sand and will consume it all and then die off. The Nassarius and Mexican Turbos will help things out but it will be gone in a few weeks naturally.
