so after changing the flow in the tank and on the bio pellets, the cyano has severely receded, there is maybe 3 , 1x1'' patches left in the tank,

i am due for a gfo changed very soon, but po4 is still reading a solid zero as well as nitrates, will keep you all updated if it comes back or dissapears

Still my p04 is 0.16, running gfo full time and haven't done my usual water change becuz of the high p04 in the bad batch of salt

So my plan is to clean out the salt AND rodi storage containers and change out my di resin.

I emptied out my carbon reactor and added some additional po4 media ( ultra phos)

Will test levels tmrw and see where they are at.

My corals are losing some colour and a few are starting to stn at the base so I really want to get this in check.

well you see, po4 is down to 0.00, ... yay ultra phos... im a bit worried about the sudden drop, but i think im going to be running ultraphos in combination or instead of gfo from now on... will be testing it out and see what works

So I did some more testing on my po4 today and numbers were way out of wack again, so I changed the battery and everything is zero now,

Ato water, frag tank water, dt , salt mixing water.....

Don't know if this Hanna is working properly lol

My seperate frag system didn't handle sps so well, and rather than waste a bunch of money bringing it up to par, I utilized some of the space in my sump
Worked out quite well, and within only a few days I've started to see improvements on a few corals, namely in colour.

Long story short- this tank leaked.
All sps died and a few fish.
Purchased / upgraded to a new to me 150g bowfront aquarium.

The new tank is 72" long by 25" tall by 24"in the middle of the bow and 18" on the ends.

Dual overflow- 2- 1.5" drains with 1- 3/4" return.
Quiet enough that It doesn't bother me atal ( it's in my bedroom )

Currently I am using a 72". 3x250w mh light.

3 reactors  - carbon , gfo, bio pellets
Skimmer- either schuran Jetskim

Or a large ati skimmer - not sure yet

The causalities - all my sps, few lps, several fish

Future plans-
I am considering going all lps, as It just took me too long to get a decent sps tank that I was happy with that I don't want to go through all again.

And besides, there are some beautiful acans, chalice, Zoa, hammers, favia etc that I really want to get my hands on

Any tips on keeping strictly lps are appreciated !

Still have the 10k bulbs.

WOW polyp extension lol
Still to white for me, but you can def see the fish colours better and corals seem to like it as well..

Diatoms are really setting in, very expected.
Hooked up the gfo and carbon today.
Bio pellets have been going since day1.


So far sticking to lps,
Though someone, even though every pieces of sps bleached in that holding tank of death, my sunset monti and parts of my rainbow monti pulled through and are already getting their color back!!
