nice postteebone110 link said:Here are the safety calculations from the Reef Savvy website and their recommendations on rimless and eurobracing based on glass thickness and size of aquarium⦠http://reefsavvy.com/faq/
Cut-off height of 1/2 inch glass..
1. 20â³ high, up to 48â³ long.
2. 18â³ high, up to 60â³ long.
3. 16â³ high, up to 72â³ long.
4. 14â³ high, up to 96â³ long.
Cut-off height of 1/2 inch glass with eurobrace..
1. 28â³ high, up to 36â³ long.
2. 26â³ high, up to 48â³ long.
3. 22â³ high, up to 60â³ long.
4. 20â³ high, up to 72â³ long.
5. 18â³ high, up to 96â³ long.
1/2 inch glass with cross brace..
The cutoff height is 29â³ high, anything over that will require 3/4â³ glass.
3/4 inch rimless..
The cutoff height is 24â³ high. In some cases we can go higher depending on the length, width, and water level.
3/4 inch eurobrace..
1. 34â³ high, up to 36â³ long.
2. 32â³ high, up to 48â³ long.
3. 28â³ high, up to 60â³ long.
4. 26â³ high, up to 72â³ long.
5. 24â³ high, up to 96â³ long.
3/4 inch cross braced..
The cutoff height is 48â³ high, anything over that will require 1â³ glass.
I do not think your tank is half inch, its probably 3/8 inch, and it is 30 inches high. You are wise to keep the brace supports
