I believe it sold for like $3500 USD

We should keep these threads going with the nicest ones we can find on the net.

That is a terrific looking piece. I hope I can post a pic like that someday. What a fun challenge.

No doubt that chalice is colourful, but the picture looks completely saturated and the white balance is not right either.

Still one of the best I have seen.

I dont think the saturation has been jacked too much but the white balance is off for sure... let's just call it an "actinic" shot  :)

I would agree with that assessment - does look like it is under actinic or led in the 20k+ spectrum.  That said, if it glows like that under that type of lighting, amazing... I find most of my pieces that really "glow" under my RB Cree's are fairly monotone... they look awesome but don't have the range of colours that glow like this chalice has.

Finally got around to getting a pic of one of the specimens still here. Sure, its nice...not as nice as the one shown by the OP, but then again probably a lot cheaper. I jacked a bit with my photo, kind of like that super chalice pic shows via the bright green brain in the corner of the pic. If this chalice colours up like any of the others we've had here, in 2 months it will be a beauty.

I hope SPYD is inspired to show off his purchase from IA by entertaining everyone here with a photo. When his settles down and colours up I believe he got the pic of the litter from this shipment.

Enjoy!

Well that green one really doesn't resemble the first one at all, and the first chalice photo resembles something I found on the bottom of my shoe at the fair :)

I meant that I thought your frag was going to be like the first one, but it isn't really, it's just green. The original one looks like a goop of candy floss and gum that stuck to my shoe near the teacup ride at the western fair.  Damn kids and their gum.

I jacked a bit with my photo,

Too much information.

I notice a lot of photos out there (jack)enhance their coral colours. It's hard enough just trying to get your picture to represent the colour your coral displays at the moment with out high end camera bodies and Macro lenses.

Anyways, just thought I would have a little fun colouring up this chalice.
