New Tank With Something New

We are setting up a reef tank (beginning of March) with live rock from private source. Aptasia appeared and have one peppermint shrimp which is taking control and cleaning them up. Also 10 electric blue hermit crabs.
Something new appeared and not sure what it is. It was hard to photograph so I apologize for the quality. It almost looks like cotton or sponge and the side view almost appears like a fan.

3 to 6 months into a new tank and peaking at 6 from the research I did when mine popped up.
