Now we would just need to get one for Chatham, nice and dead smack in the middle of the majority of our members. The LFS here has salt water tanks, but they are so full of bubble algea and hair algea, you can not see anything in their tanks. Hence why I do not buy anything from them as I am a little scared to know what they bring into my tank. I was temped to offer to work there just to clean their SW tanks.

At least I now have a cheap place to purchase buckets of salt as we now have a PetSmart here.

funny how a little guy with an interest can be a better supplier than 2 stores in chatham, now petsmart does have cheap salt, they open yet?

Chatham
Store #2033
Opening 07/23/2011

823 St. Clair St.
Chatham, ON N7M5J7
519-352-2636
13.20 miles

Personally I have never done any of the Windsor stores, but I am sure anyone and everyone in the area would love a LFS run by people who care about the hobby as much as the members here do.

Already went thru theae avenues. Called and spoke to reps on the phone with me n bizzle present. Its a constant run around for a grant.  "call this number for applications" then u do ans speak to some foreigner about giving me money, ironic i know LOL! you have to qualify blah blah blah... Its not that easy, tho i wish it were cuz i would love to take the chancE... Without repayment. Then u need a cites permit and find suppliers... I dunno...! It is a dream right now cuz i know we could be the best!!!!

Would be nice to have a solid store in Windsor.

Getting stocked, cliental and get up and running is the costly part.
You could always start small, carry generic products / live stock and do special orders.

I would contact some fish suppliers / product suppliers tell them your thinking of starting a business see whats involved, and get some prices with a business account.

Ive already emailed various companies regarding suppliers. Ie: jl aquatics, nafb, sum, and hagen inc... All wilking to supply us with goods and livestock. Require a business number and account number, and voila. But likr u said start up is the costly part...

something simple like darren or even dave, one would olny need a few large tanks with partitioning, central sump, large skimmer and lighting,i think that much could be established for $1500 used and worked on,with upgrades as you make profits?  just a shot in the dark here, lic in windsor would be another issue but im sure youve looked into that cost,i wouldnt think it would be much over $300 a year, then there are exemptions as well as wholesalers here in ontario im sure so importing would be the big issue one would think, take 3 peeps, you, bizzle and someone else with say $1500 each, you think that could be a do-able startup?
