natural lighting

is anyone in our area lighting their tanks with solar tubes?

if so what results are you getting and are you also using any extra lighting?

I know if you look around the internet a bit there is a tank thread some where that someone did up using Sola Tubes (brand Name). I know at the start he had fantastic results but after a while his PAR dropped dramatically and the thread kinda just died out or he tore the tank down or somthing along those lines.
I'll have to do some searching around if I find it I'll shoot you the link. Be forwarned from what I remember it was an extremely long thread and somewhat boring and uninformative at times.

i remember the first time i saw this tank.. i was in awe.

1200 gallon reef aquarium with 3 Solatubes

Awesome tank. Take note of all the supplemental lighting around the tubes. And for the price of the tubes and install you might be better off just building a leanto green house to put your tank in.

i did read the post about dropping par because the inside was letting go and the dome on the top was turning yellow. i have seen lots of info about people doing it in the south but nothing around here yet.
