My Tank Is Posessed

so my 125g tank is possessed.. about once a week the valves let go and it over flows..valves used were all Spears.. has anyone else had their tanks go nuts...its plumb for a bean animal, full siphon, trickle and emergency...any ideas.. could the valves be pooched, they are only 2 yrs old...

they are still pretty stiff to turn and the kitties only weight maybe 2 lbs...the older ones don't go near the tank, that would take too much work...

Are the handles actually turning closing as well. Like, did the handles turn closed on their own as well?

Sounds more like they are clogging, not closing. Snail, algae, something getting stuck in there or growing. I would go to the dollar store and get a plumber snake. They are about 3' with a small plastic brush on them. Then shut down the tank, open the valves and send that snake down the pipe. Might want to add a sock to the end to catch anything that falls out. If it isn't long enough to do the whole thing, go back in from the other end.
