Well woke up sat morn for work and heard a splashing sound which i figured to be my durso standpipe that krazykarl installed for me which is amazing.i  figured it was the bleeder not dialed right, turns out i had a eraser head hole in middle side of glass where the panes join squirting a 3 foot stream of water on my floor.long story short 20 gallons lost on floor the seams between the joining glass has let go and only thing holding it together is the silicone from when we resiliconed it and glass is pushed out a eighth of a inch.......fuckkkk theres no fixing it besides emptying entire tank taking the front pane off and redoing.  So for now i put a 900 pound clamp on it to hold front pane from busting out....yeahhhhh. So im fucked....oh yeah krazykarl also made a sick canopy for me which now tank looks amazing besides the possibility of me loosing my basement. So i need a new 150 asap lol

Whats everyone think is it actually possible to save my tank without draining it completly. Glass on that side where they join is out water found its way out about half way down the tank so basically the manufacter silicone is toast where the 2 panes join is it fixable somhow or do i just grab another 150 off a guy i know for 100 bucks and switch over again any input will help

tear it right down - you wont be able to reseal with 75 gallons of water in it.

I was thinking bout emptying  90 gallons cause leak came fron about half way mark and resiliconing fron there up but it dosnt look like i can get any silicone to go thru the butted up panes just the inside seems so the front pane and side are together but i dont think any silicone they have around here would be strong enough to deal with the force of all the water inside....i dunno looks like new tank time ughhhh

grab the 150 and start fresh

+1

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet for peace of mind. I have had my fair share of issues in some of my previous hobbies (had a $300 class D amp fry that would have cost $200 to repair so I bought a new one)

Totally take apart the damaged tank after you have to set up the new 150 and take the time to properly rebuild it with RTV silicone or as a sweet sump if you comfortable with cutting the glass. Maybe a frag tank if you shorten it :)

Get the new, Even if you "fix" the old one you would probably worry about it all the time, and if it gives out a couple months down the road your super screwed.
