Has anyone experienced any issues with vibration on these guys? I have been fiddling with this thing for about an hour now.

1 of them is is super quiet. The second one is kinda noisy. I can align it and it will be silent for about 10 min, but it starts to vibrate again afterwards. Could the magnet be the issue here? Perhaps it isn't as strong and is slowly sliding causing vibrations?

Also any leads on a new ecosmart driver would be great. I need 1 so I can upgrade them to the same driver. I have one old one and one new one.

Make sure you have the spacer set to the correct glass thickness. Also, pop the back cover off the wet end while submersed to let trapped air out. I find if you dont, it will make noise and not stay put. I have had the same problem before.

As I mentioned before, there's a reason that used units come with multiple wet sides.  I think vortech will replace funky wet sides that vibrate, whine, jam, etc etc, but not sure if there's a charge.

It's either love em or hate em when it comes to vortechs.  Hopefully they work out for you :)

They have released an updated wetside that uses plastic screws and nuts to hold the assembly together from what I have heard versus the old ones that used stainless steel. I am going to contact them today to see what they say.

1. I have adjusted for the proper thickness of glass (1/2") so that can't be it.

2. I will try the air bubble release to see if that changes anything.

I found with my MP 40 that I had to have the cord on the dryside at a wierd angle.  I would basically spin the dryside around till the vibration was better.

I find that I have to dial down my mp10s at night so the do not drive us crazy as our bedroom is next to the tank.  I can only imagine on an mp40 what that sound would be. I am getting a wp25 shortly, so depending how it performs, I may sell one of my mp10s.

I love the look of these things... they are so sleek and sexy.

Agreed. It is my favorite feature. I have mine on the back glass, so no bulges on the side of my tank and clean viewing from 3 sides. Just the whirling doesnt work too well for us. Tolerable though.

My tank is pretty far from my bedroom. It's livable for me. I just wanna tweak it the best I can is all.
