Moving - Going To Be A Nightmare, Isn't It?

I just moved my 125 reef 2 weekends ago and it took 11 hours start to finish! My system is much simpler than yours even with the sump in the stand below and not nearly as large. 11 hours and I do this for a living so I don't envy you that's for sure. The plus side for my move was that everything lived and the tank was as if nothing happened the very next day. The time it takes to move a properly setup reef tank is crazy and that's why we never offer it outside of our own clients (we have no choice when existing clients move). It just takes too many man hours away.

Haha... That answers that Stace. I was telling Eric last night I was going to reach out to you.

I'll just keep asking questions, and have and try to have a solid plan in place.

Sorry, I get asked to move tanks all the time. My issue is we're booked solid 5 days a week with servicing. The price I would need to charge for the amount of hours necessary to move such a system plus the lost wages of having to skip out normal clients that day would be far too high to make it even an option for people. This is one of those times you will really find out who your friends are! Lol in my case I knew my tank was going to be moved when I set it up so I planned accordingly with my plumbing which made the job a lot easier but it still took 11 hours. Yours is going to be a multiple day move for sure.

Oh yeah man. Totally get it from a business perspective. No worries at all. When the time comes, believe me I'll be begging for the help.

I do feel for you. I just moved in Aug and took possession of my new place the same day my old house sold. My tank is only 150 gallons total water volume but it was a chore to say the least. I decided to move everything twice so I dismantled everything into buckets (corals, fish etc), moved it all to a friends garage, set it all up and put livestock back in. I did this at night to avoid the heat of the day. Three days later I repeated the process to my new place. Some losses from the bouncing around but generally intact. Happy to say the tank received the best cleaning ever! Good luck and I hope your losses are zero.

So the slight bright side to the move. Among others I suppose, is my fish room got a size upgrade. I'll attach a couple pics. Also the likey location for the tank. On the back wall in the one pic. The fish room is pretty much right below so that's a nice change from now at 60ft.
