You know I didn't think of this, but anyone that wants to bring canned, non perishable goods (no lima beans!!) to the swap, I'll likely have a box for donations.  I think I'm going to go and get gift cards from the grocery store instead of buying a ton of groceries with any proceeds, but I can definitely bring some non-perishables with me.  Just a thought.  :)

It is better to give them money. Most have arrangements to buy wholesale from the stores. While they would never turn down a donation, cash is better for them. They can make it go farther. Just a though (I have volunteered for a few Christmas food drives, and that is what they always say! $$ is better than food!)

Gift cards was the idea of the food bank guy.  He said gift cards from grocery stores are easy for them to store...

also harder for the guy at the desk at the food bank to go buy a stereo or booze with grocery gift cards, no?  Not that they would, just saying that handing anyone a wad of cash is a little risky.

I'm thinking for the tickets...$2 each, 3 for $5 and 7 for $10.  I'll probably pull the raffles myself, I'm exempting myself from them (dammit).
There will be a guy on the door starting at 10am.  He will have a list of the vendors and you'll have to be either one of the names on the list, or have a really good story about who's table your at.  I do anticipate a pretty hefty lineup, however I of course can't be sure, so he'll be letting in ~220 people in at noon, then do a 5 people out, 5 people in sort of thing.  I will be stamping hands with a spiffy 'frag fest' stamp, so that you don't have to pay to get back in, but you would have to wait (if the line lasts past noon that is).

you have those cool necklace id card things for the vendors?  :D

Talk about some last minute ideas, though great. Pretty sure you can get them at Staples. I know that is where I went to get lanyards and those zipcords for ID badges. Great...now I want a VIP pass....a gold one.

I wonder if the dollar store would have them... but honestly I don't want to be making up ID cards at this point..I'm still running around getting black fabric and whatnot.

I will likely have a set of stickers and sharpies for those that want to put their names/id's on their shirt.

That is what I was getting at with the last minute comment. Will be a great idea for next year. I have no idea where I would find them locally to me. Damn small town.

PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE:

LISA'S LAIR  BOOKSTORE  is now a vendor!  Tables are full again, and I can get to work doing up the posters.  Welcome Lisa, and sell sell sell!!  She assures me they DO have saltwater related reading material available  :)

Thought I had better sign up here seeing as I'm going to be a vendor  ;D
It's me who runs the bookstore - Lisa has an ordinary job to pay the bills ;)  I intended on bringing the marine and pond books only. If anyone wants to look through my site and wants any other books, let me know and I can bring them too. Just remember that the prices on my website include postage (which is expensive now), so you would get the books for less than my listed prices.
Nice to be here. I have kept fish for over 45 years - all freshwater though. Who knows? You might be able to convert me  :?

PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE:

Big Al's Is putting up a 90 gallon marineland corner drilled tank!

I think it will be a little different, not part of the onsite raffle, you will have to fill in your name and they will draw the winner a little later, Aaron can verify the details, but definitely a cool prize!!!

Wow just cant believe the prizes that vendors are putting up for the First London FragFest!!! The raffle table is going to be busy and i think a lot of money is going to be raised at it because these prizes are outstanding!! Now im not so sure if i should be inviting my wife as well or not...... probably going to need a ride home by the end so got no choice haha
Curious if anyone else plans on having their significant other tag along or will i be the only one ????
