Liquid Salt.. Pros N Cons Welcome

Have a couple of stupid questions. I am having a RO/DI unit installed and I will be filling my 125 gal w/55 gal sump shortly there after, my questions is;

1. the water will be cool, how do I mix the salt. I presently use IO

2. has anyone ever used liquid salt

the ro/di unit is the BRS 75 GPD unit.

I mix my salt without heating the water all the time. No issues, just throw a power head in there, good to go. Liquid salt is stupid expensive from the little I have seen on it.

thanks good to know, I was concerned that I wouldn't get a good mix...I know it is expensive but it was just going to be a one time deal..

Just stick to your regular salt. Especially for a fowlr tank. Much cheaper just to buy a pail or box of IO salt fill up the tank put a few power heads in the tank and slowly add the salt making sure it gets mixed, then add your rock and then sand.

You can always make a super concentrated solution separate in a huge stock pot, heat it so it will dissolve more then you have your own liquid salt. I'd take a full bucket, cut in half make two hot water solutions and pour it in tank while its filling with ro water

I always mix my water cold and then throw in a heater before adding it to my tank.

I throw my water in cold. but the amount I add barely has an effect on my system. Adding 30 gallons to a 300 gallon system doesn't seem to affect the temperature by more than a degree or two.

Mine is room temperature as you need time to make ro water and then time for water to dissolve salt. No different than a nice storm flood bringing fresh water. I always add my water to my sump so has some time to mix with tank water first anyways.
