Led Light Ac Adaptor Question

So I dug my dsuny led lights out of storage- plugged them.and and only one adaptor works.
Both lights and controller work fine.

Now my question,

I grabbed and old.laptop cable, and used that and it 'worked'
I'm a simpleton when it comes to electrical stuff, so what's my long term prognosis on this working,

The input is the same, but the output definitely is not
( Ibm is the laptop adaptor in case that wasn't obvious lol)

id just find one online that has the same nput and output and you'll be set, don't want to fry anything.

well that was my first instict,
but i really dont feel like paying 100$+ when the lights themselves were only 150 each to buy new lol

Yeah get the correct one, alot of electronics will run at lower/higher rated power than they say but its generally not a great idea. I know most 24v run all the way down to i believe 14-16v. Voltage and current (power) are inverse so if you are running at a lower voltage your current will go up and will create extra heat etc etc etc.
